The composition of pet food now deciphered by Gamelle

The composition of pet food now deciphered by Gamelle
Vetools, a Lyon-based company that develops digital tools for animal health and well-being, has just recently launched Gamelle, the first application which analyses the composition of industrial dog and cat food by scanning the barcode. Its database already covers 1,500 references, and is being developed with contributions from its users' community. From the composition, the apps can calculate several variables to define the ideal ration for each individual (activity level, castration, sterilization, breed, ideal weight).

Independent from any vets or producers lobbies, this application was born from a simple observation from its creator. In the recent years, French consumers have become more and more interested in the composition of their food while checking labels, and they want to do exactly the same and have the same level of information... for their pets!
